5 Min Read | January 06, 2021

The new year is all about fresh starts, and certainly all of us need that. Still, it's useful to look back and review the events of the previous year. Here are some highlights of OpsRamp's company and product news in 2020.

Morgan Stanley Expansion Capital Invests In OpsRamp

In January 2020, OpsRamp announced a new round of investment of $37.5 million led by Morgan Stanley Expansion Capital, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), and Sapphire Ventures. “We’re excited to partner with OpsRamp to build their leadership position as this category continues to grow,” said Pete Chung, head of Morgan Stanley Expansion Capital.

A Year Of Significant Partnerships

  • In 2020, OpsRamp signed several partnerships in its quest to accelerate IT modernization across the world. In February, we announced a new agreement with Japan Business Systems (JBS), an independent cloud integrator in Japan. The partnership allows JBS to deliver a digital operations command center with AIOps to their customers.
  • In September, we announced a go-to-market partnership with Google Cloud. The partnership allows enterprise Google Cloud users to procure the OpsRamp platform on the Google Cloud Marketplace. “We’re delighted to partner with OpsRamp to bring the capabilities of their IT infrastructure monitoring platform to Google Cloud Marketplace,” said Nirav Sheth, ISV and Channel Sales at Google Cloud.
  • In October, we expanded our EMEA presence with the announcement of three new IT partners in the UK. “With Kedron, Tactile and Maple Networks we have found partners that thoroughly appreciate the IT challenges of local businesses and have formed relationships with many of the region’s IT leaders,” said George Bonser, VP of Sales, EMEA at OpsRamp.

Surveys on the Impact of Covid-19

In 2020, OpsRamp conducted two important surveys:

  1. Thriving in the New Normal is a report which explored how IT operations leaders can deliver business value in an economic slowdown. The report had fascinating insights on how IT leaders aligned technology priorities, budgets, and hiring in the volatile economic environment brought on by Covid-19.
  2. The Change Agents report was a follow-up survey to gauge how IT leaders invested and ran their organizations during the pandemic and what they plan to focus on next year. This blog covers some of the key results.

Product Releases and Enhancements

OpsRamp had three major releases in 2020:

  1. The Winter 2020 release, where we introduced AI-driven suggestions for greater transparency and faster incident remediation.
  2. The Summer 2020 release, which delivered new synthetic and cloud monitoring, and advanced AIOps capabilities for modern IT operations teams.
  3. The Fall 2020 release included a significantly refreshed version of the OpsRamp user experience with curated dashboards and automated onboarding and workflows.

Industry Recognition And Awards

OpsRamp received honors and recognitions from some top-tier organizations:

  1. Forrester Wave Recognition: OpsRamp was named a ‘Strong Performer’ in The Forrester Wave™: Artificial Intelligence for IT Operations, Q4 2020, the firm’s inaugural report on AIOps. The year 2020 was like no other. The loss of physical connection with friends, extended family members, colleagues and partners was difficult and lonely but the human spirit prevailed-- thanks in part to Zoom, Webex, Slack and many other online collaboration tools. Despite the challenges, the year also gave us an opportunity to explore new ways of working (and living) and taught us the value of creativity, empathy and resilience. These lessons will keep us in good stead in 2021--no matter what happens.
