The combination of Hewlett Packard Enterprise and OpsRamp is helping organizations to manage and transform their multi-vendor and multi-cloud IT estates with AI-driven operations, improving the performance and reliability of those environments while reducing complexity and technical debt. OpsRamp, a Hewlett Packard Enterprise company, provides hybrid observability, AI-driven event and incident management and intelligent automation, solving a lot of complex problems for some of the most demanding IT environments.
OpsRamp was listed as a Sample Vendor in 13 Gartner®1 Hype Cycle™2 reports across four different categories or innovations. The Gartner Hype Cycles3 provide a graphic representation of the maturity and adoption of technologies and applications, and how they are potentially relevant to solving real business problems and exploiting new opportunities.
Gartner Recognizes OpsRamp in 13 Hype Cycle Reports
OpsRamp was recognized as a Sample Vendor in 13 different Hype Cycle reports this year:
#1 Hype Cycle for IT Management Intelligence 2023. This Hype Cycle is designed to provide an integrated, cross-functional perspective on the application of AI and ML technologies. When you’re talking about using AI and ML in IT management, you’re talking about AIOps Platforms and OpsRamp was recognized as a Sample Vendor in this category.
#2 Hype Cycle for Infrastructure Platforms 2023. Gartner predicts that by 2027, more than 75% of global enterprises will have formal infrastructure platform organizations, up from less than 20% in 2023. Infrastructure Platforms will support the increasing demands of digital business while enabling other key trends such as DevOps, containers, hybrid cloud computing, edge computing, communications infrastructure applications and platform engineering-driven approaches to delivering business solutions.
If more and more IT organizations support Infrastructure Platforms, they’ll need the right tools to monitor and manage them. Gartner has named OpsRamp a Sample Vendor in DPC Tools, SRE and AIOps Platforms in this Hype Cycle report.
#3 Hype Cycle for Operating Models 2023. In this Hype Cycle report, Gartner defines an Operating Model as a “combination of organizational structures, processes, capabilities and relationships to conduct the daily activities of an organization to achieve the enterprise’s strategic objectives.” An IT operating model “describes how and where critical IT operations should be done across a company” so that IT delivers business value, according to Gartner.
Gartner says AIOps Platforms can deliver this business value “by reducing alert fatigue through identification and correlation of related events, [so that] operators can focus on fewer, more critical events; by reducing the time and effort required to identify root causes and augmenting, accelerating, or automating remediation; and by unifying events from siloed tools and learning actionable event patterns across domains.” OpsRamp is helping customers overcome these challenges today and we were recognized as a sample vendor in the AIOps Platforms space.
#4 Hype Cycle for Site Reliability Engineering 2023. Gartner defines SRE as a “discipline that combines systems, reliability and software engineering principles, and is used to design and operate scalable resilient systems.” Gartner says “organizations are under pressure to drive innovation, relying heavily on digital channels to reach their customers anywhere. The reliability of digital products and services is more critical than ever, hence the need to explore modern approaches such as SRE to balance reliability and change velocity.”
Gartner named OpsRamp as a Sample Vendor in Service Level Indicators (SLIs) and Service Level Objectives (SLOs). Gartner defines SLOs as “the objectives that must be achieved for any service level to meet user sentiments.” SLIs on the other hand are quantitative measures of a specific aspect of the level of service being provided, such as availability, latency or error rate. SLOs are measured by SLIs over a range of time. Gartner aslo named OpsRamp as a Sample Vendor in AIOps Platforms in this Hype Cycle report.
#5 Hype Cycle for Data Center Infrastructure Technologies 2023. According to Gartner, “infrastructure and operations (I&O) leaders and data center professionals face relentless pressure to improve data center infrastructure technologies for mission-critical legacy environments, support growth initiatives, and optimize reliability and operational costs.”
Gartner says Digital Platform Conductor tools “coordinate the various infrastructure tools used to plan, implement, operate and monitor underpinning technology and services for applications and digital products.” OpsRamp was recognized as a Sample Vendor in this space.
#6 Hype Cycle for I&O Digital Workplace Transformation 2023. “Digital employee experience, ESG and IT modernization have taken center stage in the digital workplace,” according to Gartner. “This Hype Cycle explores the ‘hype’ and helps organizations determine the right mix of solutions to maintain operational stability while adapting to disruptive influences.”
Digital Platform Conductor Tools is an innovation in this Hype Cycle report and OpsRamp is recognized as a Sample Vendor here.
#7 Hype Cycle for Software Engineering 2023. Software engineering is a rapidly-evolving space, driven by AI-generated code and practices like platform engineering. As Gartner defines Site Reliability Engineering as a “collection of systems and software engineering principles used to design and operate scalable resilient systems,” we think it’s no surprise that SRE is an innovation within Software Engineering. OpsRamp was recognized as a sample vendor in this space.
OpsRamp was recognized as a Sample Vendor in the following six Hype Cycle reports this year after receiving recognition in them last year.
#8 Hype Cycle for Agile and DevOps 2023. According to Gartner, Agile and DevOps are “core capabilities that help modern software engineering organizations deliver customer value quickly and reliably.” These capabilities combine technical ideas like automation and delivery pipelines with human-centric concepts like collaboration, community and empowerment. In this Hype Cycle report, we were recognized in both the Site Reliability Engineering and AIOps Platform categories.
#9 Hype Cycle for Cloud Computing 2023. “Despite its overall maturity, cloud computing still attracts industry attention as a delivery vehicle for proven IT capabilities and as an innovation foundation for the capabilities that businesses across industries and throughout the world require.” according to Gartner. Gartner recognized OpsRamp in the SRE category in this Hype Cycle report.
#10 Hype Cycle for Infrastructure Strategy 2023. “I&O leaders should use this Hype Cycle to drive innovation in their platform strategies to achieve infrastructure anywhere,” according to Gartner. “Generative AI, new consumption models, intelligent platform automation and sustainability must be factored in. Hybrid cloud and edge delivery continue to help optimize costs.” Gartner recognized OpsRamp as a Sample Vendor in the SRE category in this Hype Cycle report.
#11 Hype Cycle for I&O Automation 2023. Gartner describes automation as “key to transforming the capabilities that infrastructure and operations teams deliver as organizations pursue greater value, agility and efficiency.” Whether you’re looking to accelerate product development, respond faster to changing business conditions and regulatory requirements or just reduce costs, automation is a key technology in the IT operations arsenal. Gartner recognized OpsRamp as a Sample Vendor in three different categories in this report: including DPC tools, SRE, and AIOps Platforms.
#12 Hype Cycle for ITSM 2023. The times they are a changing in ITSM. “Traditional approaches to IT service management aren’t suited to modern hybrid cloud environments and faster service delivery times,” according to Gartner. OpsRamp has plenty of expertise in those areas however and we were recognized as a Sample Vendor in three categories in this report: DPC tools, SRE and AIOps Platforms.
#13 Hype Cycle for Monitoring and Observability 2023. “Observability is becoming central to how modern businesses understand customer and employee experience,” according to Gartner. “New technologies are emerging to deal with the complexity presented by operational telemetry.” Modern IT architectures are more complex than ever and legacy monitoring and analysis tools can’t keep up. We designed OpsRamp for exactly those architectures and Gartner recognized us as a Sample Vendor in the DPC Tools, SRE and AIOps Platforms categories in this report.
